G-Shot

Chicago, Illinois

The G-Shot, also known as G-spot augmentation, is a procedure that can help many women enjoy increased sexual arousal or gratification. It is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment that can temporarily enlarge or enhance the Gräfenberg spot (G-spot), an area of heightened sexual sensitivity within the vagina. In preliminary studies, 87% of women who had the G-Shot reported enhanced sexual arousal or gratification.

If you are interested in increasing your sexual arousal or gratification with this non-surgical procedure, please contact Dr. Otto Placik, the plastic surgeon with the most experience performing the procedure in Chicago and Illinois.

How the G-Shot Works

Since it was initially hypothesized in 1950, the existence of the G-spot has been a contentious issue. For some women, there is an area on the front wall of the vagina that when stimulated can lead to high levels of sexual arousal and gratification. It has been postulated that the G-spot is the reason why some women are able to achieve vaginal orgasms while others are not. Recent research using ultrasonography correlated a woman's ability to have a vaginal orgasm with an increased thickness in the urethrovaginal space, the area between the urethra and the front wall of a woman's vagina.

The G-Shot works by using a collagen or other fillers injection to increase the thickness of the urethrovaginal space in an area identified by you as being more sensitive to stimulation. For most women, this results in a significant increase in sexual arousal and gratification. To learn more about the G-Shot procedure, please visit our G-Shot Questions page.

Time Required for the G-Shot Procedure

The G-shot procedure is not surgery. It takes only a short time, about 8 seconds for the injection, with a total office visit time of less than 30 minutes normal for a G-Shot procedure. The time required for a G-Shot is generally less if a woman is already familiar with the location of her G-spot.

Before the G-Shot Procedure

First, you will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire, including questions about any allergies or medical conditions that may make you not a good candidate for the G-Shot. A brief pertinent medical history and physical examination will be performed by Chicago plastic surgeon Dr. Placik with the assistance of a female member of his staff.

During the consultation you will be asked about your goals for the procedure. Dr. Placik will discuss and review the risks and possible complications of the procedure. He will answer all your questions and make sure you feel comfortable that you understand the procedure and its likely outcomes.

Dr. Placik will also talk to you about the anatomy of the G-Spot and how to locate it to improve the results of the G-Shot. You will enter the examination room alone and follow Dr. Placik's instructions to confirm the location of your G-spot.

The G-Shot Procedure

For the procedure, you will be placed into the typical "pap smear" position with your buttock elevated. Following your direction, Dr. Placik will locate the G-spot. He will measure its location and transfer the measurements to a special speculum that custom-designed and one-time use only. Local anesthesia will be administered.  Once the G-spot has been numbed, the collagen or other filler is injected.  A tampon is inserted, which can be removed 4 hours later.

After the G-Shot Procedure

There is no recovery time after the G-Shot. You can return to your normal routine, but you are asked to refrain from sexual activity for at least four hours. Your results may last as long as four months, but both the level of your increased gratification and arousal and the duration of your results may vary.
